The Thuraya XT-PRO is a rugged satellite phone designed for people who need dependable communication in remote areas where conventional mobile networks may be unavailable or unreliable. It supports satellite voice calls, SMS messaging and essential location services, making it suitable for remote workers, expedition users, emergency teams, maritime operators and travellers operating away from normal terrestrial coverage.

Built for Demanding Environments

Designed for professional and outdoor use, the Thuraya XT-PRO combines a tough exterior with a compact, practical design. It offers IP55 protection against dust and water jets together with an IK05 impact rating, helping it withstand the knocks, movement and changing conditions that come with field use. The 2.4-inch display uses toughened Gorilla® glass and is designed to remain readable outdoors, including in bright sunlight.

Dedicated SOS for Emergency Situations

For added peace of mind, the XT-PRO includes a dedicated programmable SOS button. This can be configured to contact a predefined number by voice call and/or SMS, giving users a quick and simple way to raise an alert if assistance is required. The SOS function can also be activated while the handset is switched off, allowing the phone to power on and begin the programmed emergency action.

GPS, BeiDou and GLONASS Navigation

The Thuraya XT-PRO supports GPS, BeiDou and GLONASS, giving users access to multiple satellite navigation systems from a single handset. This provides useful location awareness when travelling or working in remote environments and gives users additional flexibility depending on where they are operating.

Long Battery Life for Remote Use

With up to 9 hours of talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time, the XT-PRO is well suited to longer trips and remote deployments where access to charging may be limited. Its extended battery life makes it practical as both a primary communication device and an emergency backup handset.

Voice, Messaging and Basic Satellite Data

In addition to satellite voice calls and standard SMS, the XT-PRO supports SMS-to-email and basic satellite data connectivity using Thuraya GmPRS. This allows users to stay in contact and carry out essential low-bandwidth communication tasks when conventional mobile data or internet access is not available.

The XT-PRO operates on the Thuraya satellite network, which provides coverage across more than 150 countries throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. For reliable satellite communication, the handset requires a suitable view of the sky and may experience reduced performance indoors or in locations where the satellite is obstructed by terrain, buildings or dense cover.
