The SkyLink 5100 (IoT) is a land-based voice and IP data solution powered by the world’s leading L-band mobile satellite service, Iridium Certus. Built for assets management, the 5100 (IoT) can be used in industries and applications from Agriculture to Oil & Gas, offering SCADA capabilities plus Edge computing and many more.
The SkyLink 5100 IoT Kit is a rugged satellite and cellular IoT solution designed to keep remote equipment, vehicles and assets connected wherever they operate. Using the Iridium Certus satellite network alongside cellular connectivity, the SkyLink 5100 provides a reliable way to transmit data from locations where traditional mobile coverage may be limited, unreliable or completely unavailable.
Built for remote monitoring, asset tracking, telemetry and IoT applications, the SkyLink 5100 automatically switches between available cellular and satellite networks to help maintain connectivity while managing data costs. When cellular coverage is available, data can be routed over the terrestrial network; when equipment moves beyond cellular coverage, Iridium satellite connectivity provides a global communications backup.
The system supports IP data, GNSS positioning, Ethernet, USB, RS232 and Wi-Fi connectivity, making it suitable for connecting a wide range of sensors, controllers and other IoT equipment. Edge computing and application hosting capabilities also allow data to be processed closer to the source, helping organisations build more capable remote monitoring and automation solutions.
Designed for demanding deployments, the SkyLink 5100 features an IP65-rated enclosure and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C. This makes it well suited to industries including transportation, utilities, energy, agriculture, mining, construction and other operations where equipment may be deployed far beyond conventional communications infrastructure.
