Is GPS tracking accurate?
All models include GPS. Accuracy is around 2.5 m for ZOLEO. Garmin and SPOT are comparable with good line of sight to the sky.
Can I send an emergency SOS?
Yes. Every tracker supports SOS alerts: SPOT Gen4, Garmin inReach devices, and ZOLEO, each triggering response centres via satellite.
What about messaging features
Garmin inReach devices offer two-way text messaging, and Messenger Plus adds photo and voice. ZOLEO allows SMS, email, app-to-app messaging and weather updates.
Are they waterproof and rugged?
Many models are built for rough conditions. SPOT Gen4 is IP68-rated, Garmin units are IPX7-rated, while ZOLEO meets IP68.
How long do batteries last?
SPOT Gen4 runs on AAA batteries with high message capacity. Garmin variants vary by model, with Messenger Plus offering up to 600 hours of life. ZOLEO lasts 200+ hours.
