The Garmin GPSMAP 65s Handheld GPS is built for serious outdoor navigation, combining advanced satellite positioning, detailed mapping and dedicated navigation sensors in a rugged handheld device.
Whether you're hiking through the mountains, navigating remote trails, working in the field or heading somewhere where a smartphone simply isn't enough, the GPSMAP 65s gives you the tools you need to understand exactly where you are – and where you're heading.
Multi-Band GNSS for Challenging Environments
The GPSMAP 65s uses multi-band technology and expanded GNSS support to deliver improved positioning in environments where satellite signals can be difficult to acquire.
Support for multiple global navigation satellite systems – including GPS, GLONASS and Galileo – combined with multi-band frequencies helps improve accuracy in steep terrain, urban canyons and areas with dense tree cover.
When the route takes you somewhere challenging, that extra positioning capability can make a real difference.
Navigate with TopoActive Europe Maps
With preloaded routable TopoActive Europe maps, the GPSMAP 65s is ready for adventure straight out of the box.
View roads, trails, geographical features and points of interest directly on the device's 2.6-inch sunlight-readable colour display, with physical button controls that remain easy to operate when you're wearing gloves or dealing with wet and muddy conditions.
Additional maps can also be added, with a microSD™ card slot providing further flexibility for expanding your mapping options.
Altimeter & 3-Axis Electronic Compass
The GPSMAP 65s goes beyond satellite positioning with dedicated navigation sensors built into the device.
A barometric altimeter helps you monitor changes in elevation and atmospheric pressure, while the 3-axis electronic compass provides heading information even when you're standing still.
For hikers, climbers and anyone navigating across changing terrain, these sensors provide useful information without relying solely on your movement or GPS position.
Built for Life Outdoors
Outdoor navigation equipment needs to cope with more than a little rain. The GPSMAP 65s is IPX7 water rated, meaning it can withstand incidental immersion in up to 1 metre of water for up to 30 minutes.
Its rugged, button-operated design is made for outdoor use, while the transflective colour display is designed to remain readable in bright sunlight.
Powered by Replaceable AA Batteries
The GPSMAP 65s runs on two replaceable AA batteries and provides up to 16 hours of battery life under specified conditions.
Carry spare lithium or NiMH AA batteries in your pack and you can quickly swap them when required – a major advantage for expeditions, field work and extended trips away from convenient charging.
Plan, Sync & Explore
Pair the GPSMAP 65s with a compatible smartphone to access additional connected features.
The Garmin Explore™ app lets you plan trips, manage and sync waypoints, tracks and routes, and download maps to your smartphone for offline use.
You can also access compatible Garmin connected features including smart notifications and LiveTrack, giving you the flexibility of smartphone connectivity while retaining a dedicated handheld navigation device.
