This Category 2 beacon is designed to be manually removed from its bracket and activated in critical situations, instantly alerting rescue authorities via the international 406 MHz distress frequency monitored by Cospas-Sarsat satellites.

The SmartFind G8 stands out with enhanced location accuracy, using GNSS coordinates from multiple satellite constellations to quickly pinpoint your position. Once triggered, the device transmits your coded emergency signal, which is relayed to the nearest Rescue Coordination Centre, ensuring help is dispatched rapidly, no matter how remote your location. Operation is subscription-free, providing worldwide coverage and peace of mind on every voyage.

The G8 EPIRB includes a manual release bracket, an integrated self-test function to confirm readiness before departure, and a powerful strobe light for visibility. With up to 10 years of battery storage life and a minimum of 48 hours continuous operation once activated, it’s built for long-term reliability and excellent value.

Registering your EPIRB is essential and required in most countries, as it allows search and rescue teams to identify and assist you more effectively. All units sold by GTC are pre-programmed with the UK country code but can be configured for other regions on request.
