Operating over the Inmarsat/Viasat satellite network, the IsatPhone 2 provides near-global coverage across the world's major landmasses and oceans, making it a practical choice for remote workers, expeditions, maritime users, emergency preparedness and anyone travelling beyond normal cellular coverage.

Built for use in demanding environments, the handset carries an IP65 rating for protection against dust and water and is designed to operate in temperatures from -20°C to +55°C. Its large, high-visibility display remains easy to read in bright sunlight, while an integrated eCompass helps users correctly point the handset towards the satellite.

The IsatPhone 2 is also designed with safety in mind. Integrated GPS location services, tracking and an assistance button allow your location information to be sent to a predefined contact when help is required. Incoming call alerts can even be received while the antenna is stowed, helping ensure important calls aren't missed.

With network registration typically taking less than 45 seconds, plus up to 8 hours of talk time and 160 hours of standby time, the IsatPhone 2 is well suited to extended trips and remote operations where access to charging may be limited.

Tracking
The new tracking service has a dedicated button with an LED icon that will send location information via text message to a predetermined number or e-mail address. It is possible to program the IsatPhone 2 to send location information at set intervals and it can even be tracked via 3rd party tracking portals using SMS rates.
SOS Functions
If you find yourself in an emergency situation you can press the Assistance Button and a user-defined text message and your GPS location will be sent to an emergency number that you can program on the handset itself.
Navigation
The Inmarsat IsatPhone 2 Satellite Phone has an e-compass with a built-in magnetometer that makes it faster and easier to get onto the Inmarsat network and is only displayed if the initial search for Inmarsat satellites fails.
