ACR OLAS Guardian (Wireless Engine Kill Switch and MOB Alarm System)

The device is especially useful in cases where you are the sole occupant of the vessel, as you don’t have to worry about your vessel moving without you onboard. This means no physical tether is needed to the kill switch, giving you the freedom to move as you please onboard. The device works across multiple styles of water vessel, from RIB and powerboats to motorboats and larger vessels. What happens if you go overboard?

The system is designed to work with a lightning fast response in a man overboard (MOB) incident. When you are wearing one of the ACR OLAS Tags on your wrist that is connected to the OLAS Guardian, should anything cause you to go overboard – losing your footing, hit by a large wave or knocked over accidentally – then in just two seconds the device will kick in and flip the kill switch on your vessel. In addition to the kill switch being triggered, a loud alarm will sound which will alert your crew.

The very act of the boat coming to a stop serves multiple purposes, not only will it protect you from the engine under the water if you fall near it, but it also lets every crew member know instantly something is not right. It will also prevent the vessel from moving too far from your location, allowing for a swift recovery.

When the OLAS devices are connected to a smartphone, you will also receive an alert there, as well as exact GPS coordinates and the time the incident occurred, making recovery much easier and more effective for your crew, or the emergency services.
