ICOM IC-SAT100 Push-To-Talk (PTT) uses the Iridium network to provide users coverage anywhere in the world. This two-way radio system can be used as a communication tool in remote, isolated areas without mobile phone or landline network infrastructure.

Powered by the Iridium® Low Earth Orbit satellite network, the IC-SAT100 combines the familiar simplicity of a professional two-way radio with wide-area satellite communications. There are no cellular towers or terrestrial repeaters required for communication between satellite PTT users. Satellite PTT – One Button Reaches the Team
Traditional satellite phones are designed primarily for one-to-one conversations. That's not always how operational teams need to communicate. The IC-SAT100 is different. Press the Push-to-Talk button and your voice is transmitted to users assigned to the same talkgroup. Instead of individually calling multiple people, an operational update can be delivered across the group almost immediately. For emergency responders, field crews, security teams and remote operations, that means information can move quickly across the organisation.
Global Push-to-Talk Powered by Iridium
The IC-SAT100 operates using the Iridium satellite network, whose Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation provides coverage across the planet, including remote land areas, oceans and polar regions. Up to 15 Talkgroups
Different teams need different conversations. The IC-SAT100 supports up to 15 talkgroups, allowing organisations to structure communications around departments, locations, operational roles or projects. Teams can communicate within their assigned group while priority communications can be organised according to operational requirements. This makes the system scalable from a small remote field team to considerably larger organisations operating across multiple locations.
Secure AES-256 Communications
Operational conversations can contain sensitive information. The IC-SAT100 supports AES-256 encryption, helping organisations maintain secure voice communications across their Satellite PTT network. For government, security, utilities, energy and enterprise users, this provides an important additional layer of protection for operational communications.
Dedicated Emergency Function
A prominent orange emergency button on the top of the IC-SAT100 provides rapid access to its emergency calling function. When activated, an emergency transmission can be sent to pre-programmed users, helping teams quickly identify that a colleague requires assistance. Priority talkgroups can also be configured through the Iridium PTT Command Center so emergency communications reach the appropriate users.
Built for Harsh Environments
The IC-SAT100 isn't a consumer walkie-talkie. It's built for professional field operations. The handset carries an IP67 rating, providing complete dust protection and resistance to immersion in up to 1 metre of water for 30 minutes.
It also meets MIL-STD-810G environmental testing standards and operates across temperatures from -30°C to +60°C. From remote construction sites and offshore operations to emergency response in severe weather, the IC-SAT100 is designed for environments where communications equipment needs to keep working.
GPS & Location Information
An integrated GPS receiver adds location awareness to the IC-SAT100. Received position information can be displayed on the radio, providing additional situational awareness for teams operating across large or remote geographical areas.

Up to 14.5 Hours Battery Life
The supplied BP-300 lithium-ion battery provides approximately 14.5 hours of operation under Icom's specified 5:5:90 transmit, receive and standby duty cycle. That gives field teams dependable communications throughout extended shifts without requiring constant access to charging infrastructure.
Connect Satellite PTT with Existing Radio Networks
The IC-SAT100 doesn't necessarily need to operate as an isolated communications system. Using Icom's optional VE-PG4 RoIP Gateway, Satellite PTT can be interconnected with compatible IP phones, IP radios, LTE radios, IDAS digital radio and analogue radio systems. This opens up powerful possibilities for organisations with existing communications infrastructure.
