On Sunday, eight yachts will set sail from Lanzarote on the second of the transatlantic Atlantic Odyssey Rallies. These new transatlantic rallies have been launched by Jimmy Cornell, the founder of the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) to return to the original spirit of the ARC, with an emphasis on the enjoyment of taking part in a non-competitive and non-commercial sailing event. We are supplying DeLorme inReach satellite trackers, airtime and online mapping capabilities for the rally. Using a combination of the GPS and Iridium satellite networks, the DeLorme inReach tracking devices provide 100% global coverage and will automatically transmit regular GPS location reports from the participating yachts. This will enable the yachts to be visually located and monitored by race spectators and organisers anywhere in the world through our dedicated mapping portal GTCTrack. GTCTrack is a web based integrated satellite and GSM tracking solution, compatible with modern web browsers and works on a multilingual platform that brings together all the positions of every manufactured product under one location and displays and manages them in a single unified interface. With GTCTrack, asset locations and movements - including position, speed, altitude and heading - are tracked in real-time worldwide via GPS updates. In addition, historic data will also be available to show movements of the yachts during the course of the rally which will end in Grenada. We wish all of the participants the best of luck on their journeys and look forward to watching their progress on GTCTrack.
