New ZOLEO Subscription Plans: Prepare and Protect

ZOLEO has introduced a simpler subscription structure designed to make choosing the right satellite messaging plan quicker, clearer and more affordable. Customers can now choose between two main ZOLEO subscription plans: Prepare and Protect.

Both plans include the essential safety features ZOLEO users rely on when travelling, working or adventuring beyond reliable mobile coverage. The biggest difference is how many messages you expect to send each month.

What Is Changing With ZOLEO Subscription Plans?

The previous three-plan structure is being replaced by two straightforward options:

• Prepare: £17.99 per month

• Protect: £29.99 per month

The new plans are intended to remove unnecessary complexity while making unlimited satellite messaging considerably more affordable.

ZOLEO Prepare Plan: £17.99 Per Month

The ZOLEO Prepare plan is designed for customers who mainly use their ZOLEO satellite communicator for regular check-ins, occasional conversations and emergency preparedness.

It includes:

• 50 messages every month

• Unlimited check-in messages

• SOS functionality

• 24/7 SOS monitoring

Prepare is likely to suit walkers, campers, seasonal travellers and occasional users who want a reliable way to stay connected without paying for unlimited messaging.

What Happens If You Use More Than 50 Messages?

Additional messages outside the monthly allowance cost £0.50 per message.

Customers can also purchase message top-ups:

• 20 additional messages: £10

• 75 additional messages: £15

Top-up messages expire at the end of the current billing month. Any unused top-up allowance will not carry over into the following month.

ZOLEO Protect Plan: £29.99 Per Month

The ZOLEO Protect plan is designed for people who communicate frequently while outside mobile coverage.

It includes unlimited messaging alongside the standard ZOLEO safety features, making it suitable for:

• Regular adventurers

• Long-distance travellers

• Expedition teams

• Lone workers

• Remote employees

• Customers who frequently update friends and family

One of the most significant changes is the price.

Unlimited messaging previously cost £58 per month. Under the new Protect plan, it costs £29.99 per month, making frequent satellite communication much more accessible.

Customers do not need to choose the most expensive plan to access ZOLEO’s core safety functionality.

Every active Prepare or Protect subscription includes:

Unlimited Check-In Messages

Send quick check-in messages to let your chosen contacts know that you are safe.

SOS Functionality

Trigger an SOS through your ZOLEO satellite communicator when faced with a serious emergency beyond mobile coverage.

24/7 SOS Monitoring

SOS alerts are monitored around the clock, helping to connect users with the appropriate emergency response support.

Whether you choose Prepare or Protect, the features intended to protect you and reassure your Safety Circle remain included.

Lower ZOLEO Activation Fee

The ZOLEO activation fee is also being reduced.

The previous UK activation fee was £39.99. From 22 July 2026, the activation fee will be £19.99.

This reduces the upfront cost for new customers activating a ZOLEO satellite communicator.

Pause Your ZOLEO Plan Between Trips

The ZOLEO Pause plan remains available for seasonal users who do not need a full subscription throughout the year.

For £4 per month, Pause allows you to retain your:

• ZOLEO account

• Dedicated ZOLEO SMS number

• ZOLEO email address

You can then reactivate a full Prepare or Protect subscription when you are ready to travel again, without setting everything up from scratch.

The Pause plan does not provide active satellite messaging or SOS service. A full subscription must be reactivated before using your ZOLEO device in the field.

Optional ZOLEO Add-Ons

Customers can continue to enhance their ZOLEO subscription with additional services.

Location Share+

Location Share+ allows users to share their location with selected contacts over a chosen period, providing additional visibility and reassurance during remote journeys.

Field Rescue Membership

The newly available Field Rescue add-on is an optional annual membership designed to help cover qualifying emergency field-rescue transportation to the nearest appropriate medical facility.

Field Rescue costs £29 per year.

Stay Connected Beyond Mobile Coverage With ZOLEO

ZOLEO combines satellite messaging, mobile connectivity and Wi-Fi communication through one compact device and the ZOLEO mobile app.

When mobile service disappears, an active ZOLEO subscription allows users to continue sending messages, checking in with contacts and accessing monitored SOS support through the Iridium satellite network.
