Cobham Sailor Fleet One Satellite Terminal

With its compact, lightweight antenna and simple installation, the SAILOR Fleet One is a low-cost entry point to the world of maritime satcoms. This terminal utilises the existing Inmarsat-4 satellite constellation to deliver satellite voice and connectivity services that are ideal for use on smaller boats. The Inmarsat announces enables this upgrade to provide users with Background IP speeds of up to 152kbps. cobham_sailor_fleet_one

Fleet One Background IP Speeds

Fleet One Background IP has been limited to 104kbps both on the terminal and at provisioning. However, Inmarsat is making a new Background IP QoS (Quality of Service) up to 152kbps available for Fleet One SIMs.

Access the new Background IP Quality of Service (QoS):

To access this new QoS, the following two things must occur Firstly upgrade the Firmware on the Terminal: If the firmware is not upgraded, the terminal will continue to limit the user’s speed to 104kbps even if the SIM is provisioned up to 152kbps. Secondly set the QoS to Background 152kbps in SCNG: For New Fleet One Customers: Fleet One SIMs are now provisioned with a QoS of Background up to 152kbps by default. For Existing Fleet One Customers: Please contact us to apply to upgrade your active Fleet One SIM to reach Background IP speeds up to 152kbps.
