The Ocean Signal rescueME MOB1 is the world’s smallest AIS MOB (Man Overboard) device with built-in DSC (Digital Selective Calling), measuring in at 13.4cm long. In an emergency at sea, the MOB1 can transmit your location to any AIS-equipped vessel with a 5-mile radius. Simply attach it to a lifejacket and, when the lifejacket is inflated, the device becomes active, pinging the wearer’s location regularly for 24 hours. Equipping yourself with a MOB1 means you will be carrying one of the market’s best personal locator devices.

Quality features of Ocean Signal rescueME MOB1

Integrated DSC Transmitter*

In the event of a man-overboard situation, the MOB1 can send details of the incident and signal the alarm directly to nearby vessels that are DSC-enabled with VHF a radiotelephone. You will need to make sure you programme the vessel’s MMSI number into the MOB1 ahead of time so that radio communication can be made.

AIS (Automatic Identification System)

This MOB1 AIS transponder is only intended for short range signalling to an AIS receiver installed onboard your own vessel. It will not directly alert the emergency services or any other vessels.

Subscription-Free

Unlike most satellite enabled notification devices, the Ocean Signal MOB1 requires no monthly or annual subscription, making it a cost effective option for long term use. Whether you’re a commercial vessel, a fishing trawler or leisure craft, an AIS MOB device should be considered essential safety equipment for every member of the crew working on deck.

Why AIS is Unique In It

Because the device is world’s smallest of its kind, having the added bonus of integrated AIS only makes it stand out further. By transmitting an emergency signal to all AIS receivers and AIS enabled plotters in the vicinity, the MOB1 is very efficient at alerting help on the open water. Together with this, the integrated GPS ensures precise location is sent to your vessel and any others that may be assisting.

Battery Performance

The Ocean Signal MOB1 has a remarkable storage battery life of up to seven years meaning you can rely on it to offer impeccable rescue alerts in the event of an emergency. When the device is activated, the MOB1 battery life will operate for a minimum of 24 hours.

*The DSC functionality of the MOB1 is limited by regulations in each country. The list below indicates which functions you may expect.
