SPOT X with Bluetooth

The new SPOT X tracker is an upgraded version of the original SPOT X, with additional features including Bluetooth. The introduction of the new Bluetooth feature enables users to no longer have to use the Blackberry style keyboard, but their smartphone to type messages. The keyboard on the SPOT X is easy to use, however typing can become more difficult with cold fingers or gloved hands. Therefore, by connecting your smartphone and SPOT X with Bluetooth, you can send satellite messages through the SPOT X app. 5 This SPOT X tracker has its own dedicated US mobile number, so other people can message you directly. There is capacity for 14 pre-programmed messaged and access to your contacts via the SPOT X app. Therefore, communicating with friends, family or search-and-rescue services is made easier. The SOS feature alerts first responders directly using the GPS location of the SPOT X tracker. Search-and-rescue co-coordinators can then communicate with the owner of the device, for any additional information required.

The SPOT App

The app allows the SPOT X with Bluetooth to pair with your smartphone to view your SPOT messages, track your progress and change tracking intervals. The SPOT X with Bluetooth must have an active subscription, before you will be able to use the messaging and tracking functions.
