SmartOne C Satellite Tracker Allows You to Track Your Assets

Posted on January 11, 2023 by Guy Arnold

The SmartOne C is a small, low-power, IoT asset tracker, ideal for tracking and monitoring the location and status of fixed or mobile assets. It can be line powered or, when external power isn’t an option, switches automatically to battery back-up that needs x4 AAA batteries. SmartOne C employs motion sensors, comparative GPS positions and custom configured sensors to gather and transmit valuable asset data.

A Multitude of Features

  • Global Coverage

The SmartOne C satellite tracker can obtain coverage in over 120 countries across the world by harnessing the power and reach of the Globalstar satellite network. It will keep users connected with friends, family and colleagues in areas where mobile phones can’t reach.

  • Messaging

The Messaging functionality allows the SmartOne C to ping its GPS position at regular, preconfigured intervals, ranging from as frequently as every minute, to every 35 minutes, up to 45 days. Messages will be transmitted regardless of whether the tracked asset is moving or stationary.

  • Geofencing

This unassuming satellite tracker also offers a geofencing feature, allowing users to prescribe a set of geographical digital boundaries. Alerts are sent by email whenever the device enters or leaves the area set by the user so they know if their asset has moved to somewhere it shouldn’t have.

Here's How It Works

Each SmartOne C is configured to track its asset's specific needs and provide intermediate and emergency alerts by email and/or text when used in conjunction with GTC's mapping portal. The SmartOne C is configured using a computer and USB connection cable. The configuration software offers a wide range of customisable setup options such as message frequency, movement and motion sensitivity levels ,and geo-fencing capabilities. This requires the SmartOne C Configuration cable.

The tracker, however, cannot be used without a specific messaging plan in place. GTC offers four subscription plans (Standard Plan, Light Plan, Heavy Plan and Unlimited Plan). Additionally, to receive messages, a mapping portal is required. We offer an add-on GTCTrack service or using your own corporate server is available with a one-off fee.

Additional Features of the SmartOne C Satellite Tracker

  • Dust & water resistant
  • Customisable tracking
  • Portable and easy to install
  • Battery or Cable Charging

Compatible With Mapping Portals

In order to receive messages, SmartOne C trackers require access to a suitable mapping portal. GTCTrack, is an ideal portal service. At just £8.50 a month per device, users get their own corporate service or mapping portal set-up, allowing them to investigate device and asset status and location, or simply see valuable data at a glance by logging in from a smartphone or laptop.

Coverage Area

The Globalstar SmartOne C coverage area reaches most of the world’s countries, apart from the polar reaches, parts of Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. There is a fringe section around every area served where reception begins to fade, but can still be faintly picked up.
