Iridium Web & Mail and Android 14 | Update from Iridium
Our Product Support team advised that due to recent changes introduced in Android 14 and above, Iridium Web & Mail (IMW) is no longer compatible with these newer versions of the operating systems. We are currently investigating the options for updating the app. This includes evaluating the effort involved, understanding the complexities of the required changes, and determining the best path forward for the app. Our goal is to ensure that any decisions we make align with providing the best experience for you and your users. In the meantime, we are also exploring alternative solutions and applications that we could recommend to address your needs and are here to assist with any questions or support required during this transition.

The fully portable Iridium GO! is a pocket-sized, battery-powered hotspot built with military-grade toughness and an IP65 rating. Once you flip up the integrated antenna, it connects automatically to the Iridium LEO satellite network and creates a Wi-Fi zone with a range of up to 30.5 metres. Within that space you can link up to five smartphones or tablets and use them exactly as you would off-grid — making voice calls, sharing photos, accessing email, sending two-way SMS, using GPS tracking, running approved apps, browsing social networks, or triggering an SOS when you need immediate help.

Its lay-flat, stable design and built-in status display make the Iridium GO! easy to operate, while the companion Iridium GO! app gives you a simple interface for managing communications. The device supports a full suite of Iridium-approved applications and includes features such as global coverage, an email/web app, multi-user support, an app API for developers, a robust accessory ecosystem, in-built GPS and a dedicated SOS button for emergencies.

Please note that some mobile networks do not support texting to satellite numbers, which can make SMS delivery to satellite devices unreliable. If you're unsure about compatibility, contact us for advice.
