What's Included?
This SPOT tracker lets family and friends know you're OK, or if the worst should happen, sends your GPS location to emergency responders. When you're on the move, the SPOT Gen3 can transmit your GPS coordinates from as little as every 2.5 minutes so you can share your adventures in near real-time, and it has a motion sensor to avoid unnecessary tracks when you're stationary.
This SPOT Tracker provides a critical, life-saving line of communication when you travel into remote areas where regular forms of communication are unavailable. The tracker's SOS function can be used in the unfortunate event of an emergency scenario or other life-threatening situation.
Once activated, the SPOT tracker will acquire its exact coordinates from the GPS network, and send that location along with a distress message to the GEOS International Emergency Response Coordinating Center every five minutes until cancelled or until the batteries are depleted. The Emergency Response Center notifies the appropriate emergency responders based on your GPS location and personal data as well as notifying your emergency contacts about the receipt of a distress signal.
The SPOT Gen3 tracker's Help function acts as a less serious version of the SOS function. SPOT Help can be used for circumstances which are not immediately dangerous and will alert your own contacts to your situation.
This SPOT Tracker's Check-in button is a simple feature which transmits a message to reassure your family, friends, or colleagues that all is well, or that you have reached your destination. Up to 10 contacts can be set up and all tracking points automatically save to your SPOT account. Your contacts will receive either a text with your message and coordinates, or an email featuring a Google Maps link to your location.
This button will send a pre-written message to your chosen contacts, along with your current GPS location, for a more detailed response or a secondary ‘help’ message when used with the SPOT Assist service. SPOT Gen 3 allows you to transmit your GPS coordinates every 2.5, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes. Additionally, the new Unlimited and Extreme tracking plans will send messages until you turn off your SPOT Tracker so there is no need to reset after 24 hours. Friends, family and colleagues can view your current and past tracks online. SPOT Gen3 has the following battery life based on the tracking frequencies show:

SOS
As standard the SOS button on SPOT will transmit your co-ordinates and information to GEOS Emergency Response when pushed in a life or death situation. They will work with local services to co-ordinate your rescue. If your business has it's own emergency response team options are available to report directly to them - ask us for more information.
