Global Two-Way Messaging
Send and receive messages anywhere in the world even when out of mobile range with inReach Mini. There are two ways to message using the device, the quickest way is to send a preset message (e.g. I’m ok or Heading home). Alternatively to type a custom message you can use a paired smartphone to access the Garmin Earthmate app which allows access to a QWERTY keyboard.
You can send messages to an email address or mobile phone number from the inReach Mini, however in our experience messaging to email tends to be the most reliable method.
SOS assistance anywhere in the world
In the event that you get into a dangerous situation and need to call for assistance inReach can help. When you press the SOS button on the side of the inReach Mini your GPS co-ordinates will be sent to the GEOS Emergency Response Center – a world leader in emergency response solutions and monitoring. GEOS will send a message to you to try to obtain further information on the situation. They also have access to your preset emergency contacts and will contact them for further info on what you are doing. Once the SOS button is pushed your co-ordinates will be automatically transmitted
GEOS work with emergency services worldwide and using your co-ordinates they will work with appropriate organisations to get help. They will not abandon the case until they are certain you are safe. every 2 minutes until the SOS is cancelled.
Worldwide Satellite Tracking
Track and share your location with friends, family and colleagues via the Iridium satellite network. inReach Mini track points can be sent manually or automatically at pre-defined intervals of 2, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes. The tracking info is transmitted to your online MapShare page, a page unique to you where contacts can view your progress and send messages to your device.
Pair with Garmin Wearables and iOS or Android Mobile Devices
inReach Mini is the first inReach to be compatible with a selected range of Garmin watches. This feature allows you to send and receive messages through the watch.
inReach Mini also pairs with an iOS or Android device to unlock extra capabilities via the EarthMate app. EarthMate allows you to access downloadable maps and send messages using the mobile device’s keyboard.
Up to date weather forecasts
This is a great feature for those who need to make important decisions on their journey based on weather. Weather information is available for your current location, a specific waypoint or specific coordinates which can be manually entered. Extra charges apply for some weather services. Manage your device with the inReach cloud portal
As part of all inReach subscriptions you have access to an online account where you can manage device settings and contacts, preset messages, MapShare settings and billing. Using the online portal you can also link to social media accounts, setup waypoints and routes and upgrade firmware.

Subscription Plans
To access the Iridium network and communicate with your inReach Mini device, an active satellite subscription is required. Depending on your usage level, you can opt for plans with different inclusive messages each month.
- GTC Garmin subscriptions allow multiple users on one account and also allow tracking as frequently as every 30 seconds, whereas Garmin only allow tracking as frequently as 10 minutes on their standard plans and 2 minutes on their Extreme Plan.
- Our subscription plans have a minimum term of just 30 days after which time you can suspend the device for just £4 per month if you don't need to use it. You can resume service at any time and suspension means you will retain online access to all the device’s previous associated data (tracks, messages, waypoints, user settings etc.). Should you wish to completely deactivate the device after the minimum 30 days term you will lose all data associated with your device.
